J-MAX POLYMER CONCRETE

J-MAX pipes combine the strength of Polymer Concrete with the enhanced corrosion resistance of GRP. The pipe consists of an internal and an external composite liner of glass reinforced plastic sandwiching a core of Polymer Concrete.

The two liners which act as permanent formwork during casting of the pipe, bond to the polymer concrete to become an integral part of each other. This bond gives a significant increase in strength. The ring beam strength of this pipe is over twice that of a plain Polymer Concrete Pipe.

The outside of the pipe has a smooth glossy exterior consisting of a glass reinforced liner. This gives a total external impervious surface to the pipe. The pipe does not absorb water during the drive, and the weight you start with is the weight you finish with. The smooth exterior face also helps reduce friction thus reducing jacking loads.

  • J-MAX pipes are manufactured in standard diameters from DN225 to DN1000 and come in standard lengths of 2 metres.

The high strength of J-MAX pipes makes them ideal to resist the considerable loads imposed when being installed by Pipe Jacking or Microtunneling. The joint is designed to work at 3.0 bar pressure both internally and externally.

    Applicable Standards :

    • BS EN 14636 – Plastics piping systems for non-pressure drainage and sewerage – Polyester resin concrete (PRC)

    • DIN 54815 – Pipes made of filled polyester resin moulding materials

    • ASTM D6783 – Standard Specification for Polymer Concrete Pipe

  • Long life – 100 years!

    • Long-term tests have been conducted on our pipes as per international standards.

    • The pipe samples were placed in Solutions with pH1 (Hydrochloric Acid), and pH10 (Sodium Hydroxide) and kept under load for 10,000 hours (+14 months).

    • The results were then extrapolated to 50 years, however, even after extrapolation to 100 years, the results have shown that our pipes are 1.7 times stronger than that specified and required in DIN 54815.

    Totally Corrosion Resistant

    • The unique design of J-MAX pipes with its internal GRP liner makes them totally corrosion resistant to all chemicals found in water, sewage, and the ground.

    Smooth internal & external surface

    • The GRP liner provides a smooth internal surface, with a minimum Hazen William’s value of 150, and a Manning coefficient of only 0.008. Thus the amount of sludge which normally accumulates on pipe surfaces is much less when compared to other types of pipes.

    • The manning coefficient of VC & RC Pipes is > 0.013

    Low Friction Loss

    • The smooth and glossy exterior surface reduces friction and thus reduces the jacking loads. This surface is totally impervious and does not absorb moisture.

    High Strength

    • J-MAX pipes are three times stronger than conventional reinforced concrete, it has a compression strength of more than 90N/mm2.

    Maintenance Free

    • Being completely non-corrosive, there is no maintenance necessary. With its smooth shiny interior surface, a simple jetting returns it to its original condition.

    Fittings & Backdrops

    • A full range of fittings including bends, Tee, WYE, and backdrops can be provided.
