The pipe is manufactured to “AS 1477 : 2006 - PVC pipes and fittings for pressure applications” has gained WaterMark Certificate WMKA25601, as well as the David Moss Corporation, has a Quality Management System complying with ISO 9001:2008 both issued by SAI Global.

It is currently approved for use by South East Water and listed on the MRWA web portal as an approved pipe system.

Boring pipe is specifically designed to be installed using Microtunneling machines manufactured and supplied by No Dig Equipment.

These machines include our B110, B250, B750 pilot microtunnelers.

Ensure lead PVC pipe is located approximately 40mm inside the cutting head shroud, leaving 40mm play to the end of the head.

Install pipe over auger casing tube which has correct size plastic spacers installed to ensure the pipe is fully supported over one metre length.

When jointing pipes, only PVC Solvent Cement Type P is to be used. The pipe ends are to be cleaned with priming fluid and then the male spigot and female socket are to be fully coated with solvent cement. Pipes are to be pushed together until shoulders meet up tightly.

Pipe jacking is not to be carried out in temperatures exceeding 45ºC.

Jack pipe assembly into the ground using the microtunneling machine. All jacking loads should be transferred through the steel casing and auger string. The plastic pipe should float over the assembly. At no stage is the load on the pipe to exceed the following:

• 150 PVC Bpring Pipe 1200 kg max load

• 225 PVC Boring Pipe = 2400 kg max load

• Maximum duration of compressive force = 5 minutes

If the pipe is overloaded beyond these parameters, pipe integrity will not be warranted.
